Steve Wyer Discusses Digital Solutions at Third Coast Interactive
Steve Wyer has helped hundreds of businesses manage their unique digital brand since 2006, well before Google took over the world. Through Third Coast Interactive (3Ci), Wyer offers a range of services including review monitoring, digital branding, online reputation management, and more. In the following question-and-answer session, Steve Wyer discusses 3Ci’s menu of digital branding solutions.
Q: How did you get into online reputation management and content marketing?
Steve Wyer: I actually became my own first customer when I found out the hard way that while the Internet never forgets negative information it often disregards when that undesirable material is found untrue.
Q: What is The Review Solution?
Steve Wyer: The Review Solution® is our company’s SaaS-based application that allows business owners the opportunity to capture reviews at the point of service and post them across the web.
Q: How does it work?
Steve Wyer: The Review Solution is essentially a review distribution program. It collects reviews directly from our proprietary app and allows them to be posted to Facebook, YP.com, Yelp, or other outlets of your choosing.
Q: Where do the reviews come from?
Steve Wyer: From your customers. There are no fake reviews. The software simply allows you to share real customer experiences with the world while keeping an eye on your online reputation.
Q: Does this stop negative reviews completely?
Steve Wyer: No, because anyone can access any number of review sites independently. However, our monitoring services allow you to see these outside reviews almost instantaneously so that you may address any issues in a timely manner.
Q: How do 3Ci’s digital branding services differ from a traditional PR or advertising agency?
Steve Wyer: We focus only on online reputations. Because of this, we can offer unique insights and proprietary tools that keep our clients’ content at the top of the Search Engine Results Pages.
Q: How has reputation management changed over the last decade or two?
Steve Wyer: Historically, one’s reputation depended almost entirely on word-of-mouth. Now, one unhappy customer can instantly vent his or her frustrations to the world, casting a shadow of doubt on your business. We work to allow the positives to shine through, letting our customers take control of their online reputations.
Q: But don’t customers have the right to know the good, the bad, and the ugly?
Steve Wyer: Absolutely, but, consider this–much of the information out there is outdated, untrue, blown out of proportion, or worse, posted with the malicious intent on harming the business or individual in question.
Q: For example…?
Steve Wyer: Let’s say a college student is arrested during a peaceful protest when others in his or her group get rowdy. While the charges are dropped, local newspapers release the names of the students. Now this innocent college student’s name is marred by an arrest.
Q: Which makes finding gainful employment after graduation a challenge…
Steve Wyer: Exactly.
Q: So how do you combat this?
Steve Wyer: For the last 10 years, we have worked tirelessly to stay ahead of the curve in order to allow our customers to present a brand (or self) in an honest and positive light. We create websites, blogs, and a social media presence which is managed entirely by our experienced and dedicated team.
Q: What other business services are available at Third Coast Interactive?
Steve Wyer: We offer full service directory solutions as well as live broadcast webinars. We even help aspiring authors or industry experts create powerful and engaging material for print or to share across digital channels.
Q: To what websites does 3Ci post content?
Steve Wyer: We have the experience to get your content on some of the world’s most trusted websites, including CNN and The Wall Street Journal. We host proprietary sites and can create a site branded just for you.
Q: What kind of content should I post?
Steve Wyer: Our writing staff can author blogs, press releases, and other informational pieces catered to your personal or professional interests and expertise.
Q: How is Third Coast Interactive involved with the Better Business Bureau?
Steve Wyer: We have been a BBB Accredited Business since 2009 and in 2016 I was humbled to be added to the Nashville BBB Board of Directors.
